Welcome to the weekly market update!
This week rounded out an experiment that I started in March where I invested $5 a week into five high dividend ETFs: JEPI, KBWD, PFF, PGX, and QYLD. I also ended the month strong with a bunch of dividends which I will share more about.
March Challenge Recap
For the month of March, I decided to try a little experiment to encourage people who do not have much money to invest. In this challenge, I picked five high dividend yield ETFs to invest $1 a week in each one. I stuck to this challenge in my Robinhood account and here is what happened:
Total Invested for the Month: $30.00
Growth/Loss: +$0.74 (2.43%)
Dividends: $0.09
This all sounds pretty tiny, which it is when you are only investing $1 a week. However, if you were to do this for an entire year, with growth, dividends, and personal investment you will see some amazing compound interest:
1 year: $268.31
2 years: $517.59
5 years: $1,302.80
Here is what I have learned about investing. Once you start getting those dividends, you will start to want to invest more. So, you will find ways to invest more and those amounts will rise dramatically.
So, it is totally worth investing, even $5 a week.
Dividends and Investments for the Last Week
This week, I received abunch of dividends and reinvested them along with adding a little bit additional income to my portfolio. Currently, I have $3,945.65 invested between my STASH, Robinhood, and Fidelity accounts. With an average monthly dividend income of $13.82 a month. Let’ dive into what happened this month.
STASH: I added $5 to SPHD. This is one of my favorite dividend ETFs and I have been adding $5 a week here for a very long time.
ROBINHOOD: I added $5 spread out over JEPI, KBWD, PFF, PGX, and QYLD. I also reinvested dividends from KBWD, PGX, and QYLD.
FIDELITY: This week, I received dividend payments from DX, VTI, VOO, GOOD, LTC, PEP, and SWBI. I turned around and reinvested those dividends along with adding about $35 dollars to NLY, GOOD, and STAG.
Over all, it was a great week in earning and reinvesting. Which really makes it easy to keep investing. This week is one of the more addictive dividend investing week’s I have had in the month of March.
If you haven’t started investing in my favorite platforms, I would encourage you to open up accounts so you and I can both get free stock or cash to invest! Here are my three favorites:
